Born in Lowestoft, Suffolk in 1984, this shy girl was educated at The Benjamin Britten High School in Lowestoft.
Aged 15 she started performing at Potters Leisure Resort near Hopton-on-Sea. She loved taking to the stage at its annual shows. In her first year and at the tender age of 15 she was offered a recording contract, which unusually she turned down.

Mitchell writes music, sings, and plays piano and the organ. Before she took part in The Voice UK, she worked as part of Potters Theatre Company, entertaining holiday makers. She met her husband Rob Hurren here. This was a job she was extremely happy to do and got a lot of satisfaction from.
